Journal for the year 2017

Stourhead, Wiltshire 27 October

I made the effect to visit Stourhead in Wiltshire, a National Trust Property to photography Autumn scenes. The weather was sunny and it was absolutely packed but managed to get images I am pleased with. The first time I have actually gone out to specifically take photos depicting Autumn.

Creative

This year I have done a small amount of montage and creative imagery. Its been great fun creating activities for elephants and am still trying to think of new ideas. Below a few images created.

Still Life

Also, over a peiod of months I have used my garage for photographing water, still life and sparkler images. It has been great learning curve and below come of the images I have achieved. I have set up a backcloth in the garage and obtained a fish tank and black shiny tile as my main props and hunted around for other objects to photograph.

Prague 21st to 23rd June

I took a short break to Prague and although found it difficult walking too much I did manage to get some different shots by using the trams system. One visit was to Terezin, just outside Prague which was a big surprise, it was to a Fort that was used as a Concentration Camp in World War II, called Thierenstadt. Quite a moving experience.

Lincolnshire 18 to 21 March

I and another friend were invited to give a talk at three venues and we were able to take some time off to get images from some of the seaside towns. It was interesting to get out of season photos, certainly shows seaside towns in quite a different way to the summer trade.

Gairloch and Isle of Skye 25 February to 9th March

With members of camera clubs that I belong to I went to Scotland in self catering accommodation having a week in Gairloch and a week on the Isle of Skye. The weather was kind for photography and it was good to get something other than iconic shots in Scotland. Isle of Skye wasn't so easy to get something different but different weather, different times of the year always produces something new.
